Micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) are being supported by governments across the world for their substantial role in economic growth. The majority (about 90%) of businesses across the world are MSMEs and these sustain over 50% of the global workforce. Hence, their role in economic development through employment cannot be understated. The World Bank estimates that by the year 2030, about 600 million jobs will be needed to accommodate the workforces of the world. This is where HFL comes in, offering a holistic approach which establishes active linkages between education providers, skills, workers, and employers.
